The Diputación de Málaga has launched a new edition of the Premio Aceleración y Consolidación de Ideas Innovadoras de Emprendimiento, aimed at companies, professionals and self-employed people from small municipalities in the province. According to the note sent by the Cámara de Comercio de Málaga, applications can be submitted until September 30.

The award is worth nine thousand euros and is aimed at those who develop innovative ideas with an impact on entrepreneurship and employment in municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants in the province.

It has two categories. The Aceleración category seeks early-stage ideas that take advantage of business opportunities in any sector. The Consolidación category recognizes already established projects.

In both cases, applicants must reside, if they are individuals, or have their registered office, if they are companies, in a municipality of the province with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants on the date the call is published.

To apply for the Aceleración category, applicants must be registered as an economic activity and have started that activity from January 1, 2025, maintaining it at the time the award is granted. For the Consolidación category, the registration must be earlier, from January 1, 2023, with uninterrupted development of the activity until the award is granted.

Amounts

In the Aceleración category, the first prize is two thousand five hundred euros and the second is two thousand euros. In the Consolidación category, the amounts are the same: two thousand five hundred euros for the first prize and two thousand euros for the second.

Among the evaluation criteria are the originality, creativity and innovation of the proposal, the need it addresses, the ability of the business model to grow and internationalize, its technical, commercial and economic viability, its contribution to the Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) and the project's impact on the province, especially in municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants.

Applications can be submitted until September 30. The call and further information are available on the Ayuntamiento de Málaga's employment website.
